How to fold an origami flying saucer

A band folded up from the bottom makes the saucer and the plain side above it becomes the dome. Fold the corners behind to round it off, then draw the portholes.

You need: 1 square sheet, blue or silver on one side. Easy, 5 steps, about 3 minutes.

Steps

  1. Fold up the saucer. Fold the bottom edge up to the middle of the sheet.
  2. Lower the top. Fold the top edge down behind, so it meets the top edge of the saucer.
  3. Shape the dome. Lift the saucer. Fold the white paper behind, from each bottom corner to a third of the way in along the top edge, then lay the saucer back down.
  4. Round the saucer. Fold the saucer's top corners behind, from where the dome meets the saucer to halfway down each side. Then fold the bottom corners behind from that point, so each end comes to a point.
  5. Round the dome. Fold the two top corners of the dome behind, from halfway up each side.

We come in peace!

Draw a line around the rim, a row of portholes with a white gel pen or paper dots, and a shine on the dome.
