How to fold an origami toaster
Fold the bottom of a red square up, leaving a white band above for the toast. Snip and fold the band's ends behind into a slice, then fold the sides behind into a chunky body.
You need: 1 square sheet, 15 x 15 cm, red on one side, scissors and a black pen. Medium, 7 steps, about 8 minutes.
Steps
- Fold up the body. White side up, fold the bottom edge up, stopping 3 cm below the top edge. The white band above will be the toast.
- Crease the toast. Fold the white band down over the red, along the red edge.
- Open it again. Fold the band back up, leaving a sharp crease.
- Two snips. Snip along the crease from each side, about 4 cm in, leaving the middle of the band joined.
- Slice of toast. Fold the two snipped ends of the band behind, so a square slice of toast stands up in the middle.
- Sides behind. Fold the left and right edges of the red body behind about 2 cm, so it is wider than the toast.
- Round the corners. Fold the toast's top corners and the body's bottom corners behind a little.
