How to fold an origami bishop's mitre
Fold a strip up for the band, then fold the sides in, leaving a gap that makes the white stripe. Fold the top corners behind for the point and slim the bottom.
You need: 1 square sheet, red on one side and white on the other, and a black pen. Easy, 5 steps, about 4 minutes.
Steps
- Fold up a strip. Start red side up. Fold the bottom edge up about a sixth of the way. This strip becomes the white band.
- Turn it over. Flip it over from side to side, so the white side is up and the strip is at the bottom, behind.
- Sides in, leave a gap. Fold the left and right edges in towards the middle, but stop a little short, so a white stripe shows between them.
- Fold the point. Fold the two top corners behind, from the top of the white stripe down to the side edges, so the top makes a tall point.
- Slim the bottom. Fold a thin slice of each lower side behind, so the mitre gets a little narrower down at the band.
Blessings!
Draw a small cross on the white stripe. Tape a paper strip inside as a headband and wear it in the school play.
