How to fold an origami tie
A kite folded slimmer makes the long blade with its point at the bottom. Fold the thin top down and it becomes the knot.
You need: 1 square sheet, navy or red on one side. Easy, 6 steps, about 4 minutes.
Steps
- Crease the middle. Put the square white side up like a diamond. Fold the left corner to the right corner, crease well, and unfold.
- Make a kite. Fold the two upper edges in so they lie along the centre crease.
- Turn it over. Flip the kite over from side to side. The long point stays at the top.
- Slim it down. Fold the two long edges behind so they meet at the back. The kite gets slim, with a short wide point at the bottom.
- Fold the top down. Fold the thin top point down onto the front.
- Finish the knot. Fold the tip of that point back up to the top edge. The short band at the top is the knot.
Looking sharp!
Your tie is ready. Glue it on a Father's Day card or a paper shirt.
