How to fold an origami dress
Two slanted folds turn a square into a flared skirt, a thin strip at the top becomes the neckline, and the hidden side flaps swing out as sleeves.
You need: 1 square sheet, any size. Medium, 4 steps, about 5 minutes.
Steps
- Crease the centre. Start coloured side up. Fold in half from side to side, crease, and unfold.
- Fold the neckline. Fold a thin strip at the top down to show a white band.
- Flare the skirt. Fold each side behind on a slant: from a third of the way in along the top edge, down to the bottom corner.
- Fold out the sleeves. Reach behind and take the top corner of each side flap. Fold it out from the shoulder point so it pokes out sideways and a little down, as a sleeve.
Twirl!
Draw a pattern on the skirt, or fold a row of dresses in different colours for a paper doll.
