How to fold an origami mitten
One flap corner swings out as the thumb, and folding the bottom up turns it coloured and sets it just above the cuff. Fold a second one the other way for a pair.
You need: 1 sheet of A4 or Letter paper. Medium, 8 steps, about 7 minutes.
Steps
- Fold the cuff. Start coloured side up. Fold a strip about two fingers wide at the top down. It will be the white cuff.
- Turn it over. Flip the paper over, keeping the white strip at the top.
- Sides to the centre. Fold the left and right edges in to meet in the middle.
- Fold out the thumb. At the bottom, fold the right flap's inner corner out, creasing from the bottom right corner to the centre about a third of the way up. Its tip is the thumb.
- Bottom up. Fold the bottom up until its edge meets the white strip. The thumb flips up and turns coloured.
- Turn it round. Turn the paper round so the white cuff is at the bottom.
- Round the top. Fold the two top corners behind to round off the fingers.
- Round the thumb. Fold the very tip of the thumb behind.
Snug!
For a pair, fold a second one with the left flap as the thumb, then hang both on a string.
