How to fold an origami hand mirror
Fold a gold strip into a hand mirror: fold the bottom up into a square, slant the top into a handle and fold it behind so it pokes out below, then round the frame.
You need: A 7.5 x 27 cm strip of gold or yellow paper (cut from the long side of A4). Easy, 5 steps, about 6 minutes.
Steps
- Fold up the frame. White side up, standing tall. Fold the bottom edge up 7.5 cm, so a gold square shows at the bottom of the strip.
- Handle: left side. Fold the left edge above the square in on a slant, from the square's top corner to 1 cm left of the middle of the top edge.
- Handle: right side. Fold the right edge in the same way, from the square's other top corner to 1 cm right of the middle.
- Handle down behind. Fold the whole handle down behind the square, folding along its top edge. The gold handle pokes out below.
- Round the frame. Fold the four corners of the square behind, about 2 cm each, so it is round. Keep the handle out of the bottom two.
Who's the fairest?
Draw a round white glass with two streaks of shine. Hold it by the handle and pull a funny face.
