How to fold an origami leaf
Fold the square in half and cut half a leaf against the fold, with a thin stem below. Open it out and the fold becomes the middle vein.
You need: 1 square sheet, green on one side, and scissors. Easy, 5 steps, about 4 minutes.
Steps
- Fold in half. Fold the left edge over to the right edge.
- Mark the stem. Fold the bottom quarter up and crease it well.
- Open the crease. Fold the bottom quarter back down. The crease shows where the stem starts.
- Cut the leaf. Through both layers, cut along the crease almost to the fold, then straight down to the bottom for a thin stem. Then cut half a leaf round to the top of the fold.
- Open the leaf. Unfold the top layer back to the left. The fold makes the middle vein.
Lovely leaf!
Draw veins from the middle out to the edges.
