How to fold an origami easy orca
A long diamond with its top point folded out to the side as a tall fin. Fold it in half, lay it down and lift the tail. White pen adds the patches.
You need: 1 square sheet, 15 × 15 cm, black on one side, and a white pen. Easy, 7 steps, about 4 minutes.
Steps
- Crease the diagonal. White side up, like a diamond. Fold the left corner to the right corner, crease, and unfold.
- Make a kite. Fold the two lower edges in to lie along the centre crease.
- Long diamond. Fold the two upper edges in to the centre crease too, so both ends are long points.
- Fold out the fin. Fold the top point down and to the left on a slant, so its tip sticks out about 3 cm past the left side, just below the left corner.
- Fold in half. Fold the right half over onto the left half. The fin still pokes out at the side.
- Lay it down. Turn it so the fold is at the bottom, the fin points up and the long point aims left.
- Lift the tail. Fold the long point up on a slant, about 4.5 cm from its tip, so it flicks up as the tail.
