How to fold an origami owlet
One square folds into a plump little owl with pointy ear tufts and a round tummy. A brown strip makes the branch, with its end turned up into a twig.
You need: A grey-brown square, a brown strip for the branch, and glue. Easy, 8 steps, about 6 minutes.
Steps
- Owlet: corners to the middle. Fold all four corners in to meet in the middle.
- Owlet: turn it over. Flip it over so the smooth side faces you.
- Owlet: round the bottom. Fold the two bottom corners behind on a slant. The two top corners stay as the ear tufts.
- Owlet: rounder still. Fold the four new little corners at the bottom behind, just a tiny bit, so the tummy is round and fluffy.
- Branch: brown strip. Set the owlet aside. Take the brown strip, white side up.
- Branch: fold it in half. Fold the top edge down to the bottom edge.
- Branch: a twig. Fold the right end up on a slant, so it sticks up like a little twig.
- Perch it. Glue the owlet on the middle of the branch.
Hoo-hoo!
Draw huge round eyes, a little beak, wings, fluffy feathers and toes gripping the branch.
