How to fold an origami police cap
Fold a navy square's top down as the crown and its bottom up as the peak, leaving a white band between, then slope the band and peak in and round the crown.
You need: 1 sheet about 15 × 12.5 cm, navy blue on one side. Easy, 4 steps, about 4 minutes.
Steps
- The crown. Put the paper white side up, long side across. Fold the top edge down about a third of the way. This is the top of the cap.
- Band and peak. Fold the bottom edge up until it stops a finger's width below the crown. The white band is the hat band; the flap is the peak.
- Slope it. Fold the sides of the band and peak behind on slants, from the crown's bottom corners to a bit in at the bottom.
- Round it. Fold the crown's top corners and the peak's bottom corners behind, so the cap is round on top and the peak curves.
On duty!
Draw a shiny white badge on the front of the crown. Put it on a teddy and go on patrol!
