How to fold an origami puppet theatre

Fold the sides in as two red curtains, tuck their inner corners under so they swing open, then fold a red valance across the top and a stage front at the bottom.

You need: 1 A4 or Letter sheet, red on one side. Easy, 5 steps, about 5 minutes.

Steps

  1. Two curtains. Lay the sheet white side up, long side across. Fold the left and right edges in, a fifth of the way. Two red curtains!
  2. Open them. Fold the inner edge of each curtain back out on a slant, from its top inner corner. The curtains swing open and show their lining.
  3. The valance. Fold the top edge down in front, about a sixth of the way. A red band hangs across the top.
  4. The stage. Fold the bottom edge up in front, a little less. That is the front of the stage.
  5. A fancy top. Fold the two top corners a little way behind on slants, so the theatre gets a pointed top.

Showtime!

Draw a few stars on the valance. Stick finger puppets through the opening and put on a show.
