How to fold an origami tent
Two doors folded in from the sides meet in the middle, the top folds behind and the corners slope down into a tent. Then the doors fold back to open it up.
You need: 1 square sheet, green or orange on one side. Easy, 6 steps, about 3 minutes.
Steps
- Crease the middle. Fold in half side to side, crease, then unfold.
- Fold the doors. Fold the left and right edges in to meet at the centre crease. These two flaps are the tent doors.
- Top half behind. Fold the top half behind, so the top edge meets the bottom edge.
- Top half behind again. Fold the top half behind once more, so the top edge meets the bottom edge again.
- Slope the sides. Fold the top corners behind, from the middle of the top edge down to each bottom corner.
- Open the doors. Fold each door's bottom inner corner out, from two thirds of the way up the middle to a third of the way to the corner. The white lining shows.
Time to camp!
Colour the open doorway dark, then make a whole campsite.
