How to fold an origami witch hat

A tall kite with its plain tip tucked behind makes the cone. One pleat at the bottom pulls out a wide brim.

You need: 1 square sheet, black or purple on one side. Medium, 5 steps, about 4 minutes.

Steps

  1. Crease the diagonal. Fold the left corner to the right corner, crease, and unfold.
  2. Make a tall kite. Fold the two upper edges in to lie along the centre crease.
  3. Tuck the white tip. Fold the white point at the bottom up behind, along the line between the side corners.
  4. Fold the brim up. Fold the bottom part of the hat up, along a line about a fifth of the way up from the bottom edge.
  5. Fold the brim down. Fold it back down a little higher, so a wide brim sticks out at both sides.

Add a few stars or a moon, and hang it in the window.
