How to fold an origami easy witch hat
A kite folded behind makes the tall cone, a pleat sits it on a wider brim, and the tip flops over like a real old witch hat.
You need: 1 square sheet, purple or black on one side. Easy, 5 steps, about 4 minutes.
Steps
- Kite behind. Put the square coloured side up like a diamond. Fold the two upper edges behind so they meet along the middle at the back.
- Flat bottom. Fold the short bottom point behind, so the hat stands on a straight edge.
- Cone behind. Fold the whole tall point behind along a line a little above the bottom edge.
- Cone up. Behind, fold the point back up a little lower so the cone stands on top. The wide strip at the bottom is the brim.
- Bend the tip. Fold the top of the cone over to the right on a slant, so the tip flops sideways.
Spooky!
Draw a dark band with a buckle just above the brim. Pop it on a paper witch or a pumpkin for Halloween.
