How to fold an origami angelfish
Fold a diamond in half into a tall triangle, snip a short slit and fold the back corners behind: two long fins sweep back. A fold behind brings out the tail.
You need: 1 square sheet (15 cm), yellow on one side, scissors and a black pen. Medium, 7 steps, about 10 minutes.
Steps
- Fold in half. Start yellow side up, like a diamond. Fold the top corner down onto the bottom corner.
- Open it again. Unfold it, so a crease runs across the middle.
- Fold in half behind. Fold the right corner behind onto the left corner. A tall triangle: the left point is the nose, the top and bottom points are the fins.
- Snip the middle. Snip along the middle crease from the back edge, about 3 cm in.
- Sweep back the fins. Fold both back corners over to the front, on slants from the end of the snip to the top and bottom points. The fins now sweep back.
- Pull out the tail. At the back, fold the layer's point at the nose out to the right, so it sticks out between the fins.
- Square the tail. Fold the tip of the tail behind, so it ends in a straight edge.
An angelfish!
Draw three bold black stripes from top to bottom, the first one right through the eye. Then add the eye and a little mouth.
