How to fold an origami bagel
Fold the square small and snip the middle corner, which opens into a hole. Fold the corners behind twice to round the ring, then dot on the seeds.
You need: 1 square sheet, golden brown on one side, scissors, and white and dark pens. Medium, 9 steps, about 6 minutes.
Steps
- Fold in half. Golden side up. Fold the bottom edge up to the top edge.
- In half again. Fold the right edge over to the left edge, making a small square.
- Into a triangle. Fold it in half from the bottom-right corner to the top-left corner. The corner at the right is the middle of the paper.
- Snip the middle. Snip a small piece straight off the corner that is the middle of the paper. Keep it small: a bagel has a little hole.
- Open the triangle. Unfold the last fold.
- Open the square. Unfold the right half too.
- Open it all. Unfold the bottom half. There's the hole in the middle!
- Corners behind. Fold the four corners behind, to make an eight-sided shape.
- Round the bagel. Fold all eight new corners behind, just a little, so the bagel is round.

Dot white sesame seeds all over the ring, and a few dark poppy seeds in between.
