How to fold an origami bee
Fold a triangle so the white side shows, fold it in half and snip out two round wings. Open it, flip the front point up so it pokes out between the wings as the head, then draw on the stripes.
You need: 1 square sheet, yellow on one side, scissors and a black pen. Medium, 5 steps, about 5 minutes.
Steps
- Make a triangle. Start yellow side up, like a diamond. Fold the top corner down to meet the bottom corner. White shows.
- Fold in half. Fold the left half behind the right half.
- Snip the wings. Snip a slanted piece off the top corner by the fold, then round off the pointy tip with three little snips.
- Open it. Unfold the left half again. Now there is a V-shaped gap between two round white wings.
- Fold up the body. Fold just the front layer's bottom point up so its tip pokes into the gap between the wings. Yellow shows in the middle.
Buzz buzz!
Colour the top point black for the head, add two feelers, then draw thick black stripes across the body and a little stinger at the tip.
