How to fold an origami broom
Fold a brown strip in half twice into a long handle. Fold a yellow square in half, slant its top corners behind and pleat a binding across it, then glue the handle behind.
You need: 1 yellow square, 15 x 15 cm, 1 brown strip, 25 x 5 cm, glue and a black pen. Medium, 9 steps, about 8 minutes.
Steps
- Brush: fold in half. Start with the yellow square, white side up. Fold the top edge down onto the bottom edge.
- Slant the top. Fold the two top corners behind on a slant, 4 cm along the top edge and 5 cm down the side.
- Binding: fold down. Fold the top edge down about 2 cm.
- Binding: fold up. Fold it back up on a line just below, leaving a little step across the top: the binding.
- Handle: new sheet. Set the brush aside. Take the brown strip, white side up, standing tall.
- Fold in half. Fold the left edge over onto the right edge.
- In half again. Fold the right edge over onto the left edge: a long, thin brown handle.
- Round the top. Fold the two top corners of the handle behind a little.
- Glue on the brush. Glue the brush over the bottom end of the handle, the handle tucked about 2 cm into its top.
Sweep sweep!
Draw a few straw lines on the brush. Sweep up the crumbs, or hop on for a Halloween ride.
