How to fold an origami candy
A square folded into a band, then a snip at each folded corner pinches the wrapper. A small pleat gives each end a little ridge.
You need: 1 square sheet, any colour, and scissors. Easy, 8 steps, about 4 minutes.
Steps
- Top edge to the middle. Fold the top edge down to the middle of the sheet.
- Bottom edge to the middle. Fold the bottom edge up to meet it. Now you have a long band.
- Turn it over. Flip the band over so the smooth side faces you.
- Fold in the ends. Fold the left and right ends in so they overlap a little in the middle.
- Snip the corners. Snip a slanted triangle off the four corners at the folded sides, about a third of the way down the fold.
- Open the ends. Fold both ends back out. The snips open into notches that pinch the wrapper.
- Crimp the ends. Fold the tip of each end in by a little strip.
- And back out. Fold each strip back out, creasing halfway across it, so each end of the wrapper gets a little ridge.
Sweet!
Draw spots on the candy, and give it to someone sweet.
