How to fold an origami ice lolly
Two parts: a band with a white dipped top and rounded corners for the lolly, and a small sheet folded into a thin stick, glued on behind.
You need: 1 square sheet for the lolly, a square half as wide in tan or brown for the stick, and a glue stick. Easy, 9 steps, about 5 minutes.
Steps
- Lolly: fold the top down. Start with the lolly, coloured side up. Fold the top edge down a strip about a fifth of the sheet, so the white shows like a dipped top.
- Lolly: sides behind. Fold the left and right edges behind to meet in the middle.
- Lolly: round the top. Fold the two top corners behind at a slant.
- Lolly: round it more. Fold the new corners behind a little, and the two bottom corners too.
- Stick: new sheet. Set the lolly aside. Take the small square for the stick, coloured side up.
- Stick: sides behind. Fold the left and right edges behind to meet in the middle.
- Stick: slim it. Fold both sides behind once more, to make a thin stick.
- Stick: round the end. Fold the two bottom corners of the stick behind, just a little.
- Glue on the stick. Glue the top half of the stick to the back of the lolly, so the round end pokes out at the bottom.
