How to fold an origami carrot
An orange kite makes the long pointy root, and a small green square folds into three leafy stalks that peek out of the top. Draw a few lines across the root.
You need: 1 orange square, 1 slightly smaller green square, and a glue stick. Easy, 9 steps, about 5 minutes.
Steps
- Root: crease the diagonal. Start with the orange square, white side up, like a diamond. Fold the left corner to the right corner, crease, and unfold.
- Root: make a kite. Fold the two lower edges in to lie along the centre crease.
- Root: fold the top down. Fold the white top point down over the flaps, on the line between the two side corners.
- Root: round the shoulders. Fold the two top corners over a little.
- Root: turn it over. Flip it over so the smooth orange side faces you.
- Leaves: new sheet. Set the root aside. Take the small green square, white side up, like a diamond.
- Leaves: make a triangle. Fold the bottom corner up to meet the top corner.
- Leaves: fold the sides up. Fold the left and right corners up, creasing from the middle of the bottom edge, so they stand up and lean out beside the top point.
- Glue on the root. Glue the root on the leaves, so its flat top covers their bottom edge and the three green stalks stick up.
