How to fold an origami watermelon slice
A red square folds into a wedge with a white rind along the top, and a green strip behind it makes the skin. Draw the black seeds.
You need: 1 red square, half a green square the same size, and a glue stick. Easy, 7 steps, about 5 minutes.
Steps
- Slice: fold down the rind. Start with the red square, red side up. Fold the top edge down a little, so a thin white band shows along the top.
- Slice: make the wedge. Fold the two lower corners behind, creasing from each top corner down to the middle of the bottom edge.
- Skin: new sheet. Set the slice aside. Take the green half square, white side up, lying long.
- Skin: fold it in half. Fold the bottom edge up to the top edge.
- Skin: fold in half again. Fold the bottom edge up to the top edge again, to make a thin strip.
- Skin: slant the ends. Fold the two bottom corners of the strip behind, just a little, so the ends slope in like the slice.
- Glue on the slice. Glue the slice on the strip, so just a thin line of green shows above the white rind.
Juicy!
