How to fold an origami chick
A kite with its white bottom point folded up into a chest and wings, and the tip turned back down as the beak. Fold the top behind for the head, round off the corners and draw the eyes and feet.
You need: 1 square sheet, 15 × 15 cm, yellow on one side. Easy, 7 steps, about 3 minutes.
Steps
- Crease the diagonal. Fold the left corner to the right corner, crease, and unfold.
- Make a kite. Fold the two upper edges in to lie along the centre crease, leaving a white point at the bottom.
- Fold up the wings. Fold the white bottom point up, creasing 1.5 cm above the side corners, so the corners stick out at the sides as wings.
- Fold the beak. Fold the tip of the point you just folded up back down about 1 cm, so its white side makes the beak.
- Flatten the head. Fold the top point behind, leaving a beak's width (about 2 cm) of head above the beak.
- Round the head. Fold the head's two top corners behind, from 1 cm in along the top edge to 1 cm down each side.
- Round the body. Fold the bottom corners behind, from each wing tip to the bottom edge, halfway between the corner and the centre crease.
Peep peep!
Draw an eye just above each top corner of the beak, and two little feet at the bottom.
