How to fold an origami little christmas tree
A kite makes the tall tree. The white bottom point flips up and back down as the trunk, and one pleat gives the tree its second tier.
You need: 1 square sheet, green on one side and white on the other. Easy, 7 steps, about 5 minutes.
Steps
- Crease the middle. Put the square white side up like a diamond. Fold the left corner onto the right corner, crease well and unfold.
- Make a kite. Fold the two upper edges in so they meet along the centre crease.
- White point behind. Fold the short white point at the bottom up behind, along the bottom edge of the kite.
- Fold down the trunk. Behind, fold its tip back down so it sticks out below the tree. That's the trunk.
- Square the trunk. Fold the very end of the trunk behind so it is flat at the bottom.
- Fold the top down. Fold the top half of the tree down across the middle.
- And back up. Fold it back up a little lower. The top half now sits inside the bottom half, with a step on each side.
Deck the tree!
Dot some baubles on with a white pen. Make a few in different sizes for a little paper forest.
