How to fold an origami claw hammer
Fold a long strip into a thick bar, fold the end back on itself for the head and turn it down with a 45-degree fold for the handle. A pleat makes the grip and the head tapers into a claw.
You need: 1 grey strip, 30 x 10.5 cm (half an A4 sheet cut lengthwise). Medium, 7 steps, about 10 minutes.
Steps
- Fold in half. White side up, fold the bottom edge up onto the top edge. Grey shows on both sides now.
- In half again. Fold the top edge down onto the bottom edge: a long, thick grey bar.
- Fold back the head. About 9 cm from the left end, fold the rest of the bar back to the left, so it lies on top.
- Turn down the handle. Halfway back along the head, fold the end straight down with a 45-degree fold: the handle.
- Grip: fold up. Fold the bottom of the handle up about 4 cm from the end.
- Grip: fold down. Fold it back down on a line just above, leaving a little step: the grip.
- Claw and handle end. Fold the head's top right corner behind on a slant from halfway along its top to near the bottom corner: a pointy claw. Round the handle's end too.
Bang bang!
Your claw hammer is ready for the toolbox.
