How to fold an origami crown
Fold a square into quarters and make one snip. Open it out and the top edge has a point at each corner and one in the middle. Fold up a white band for the jewels.
You need: 1 square sheet, gold or yellow on one side, scissors and a white pen. Easy, 6 steps, about 4 minutes.
Steps
- Fold in half. Start coloured side up. Fold the left edge over to the right edge.
- Fold in half again. Fold the right edges over to the folded edge on the left, so the strip is a quarter as wide as the square.
- Snip the points. Cut in a straight slant from the top-left corner down to the right edge, about a quarter of the way down. Cut through every layer.
- Open the last fold. Unfold the layers you folded over last, back out to the right.
- Open it all out. Unfold the first fold too. The top edge now has three points: one at each corner and one in the middle.
- Fold up the band. Fold the bottom edge up to the middle. The white band is where the jewels go.
Your Majesty!
Draw jewels on the band and a pearl on each point. To wear it, tape a paper strip to each side so it fits round your head.
