How to fold an origami donut
Fold the square into a small triangle and snip the centre corner: it opens into a round hole. Fold the corners behind twice to round the donut.
You need: 1 square sheet, pink on one side, and scissors. Medium, 9 steps, about 6 minutes.
Steps
- Fold in half. Pink side up. Fold the bottom edge up to the top edge.
- In half again. Fold the right edge over to the left edge. Now you have a small square.
- Into a triangle. Fold it in half from the bottom-right corner to the top-left corner. That corner at the right is the middle of the paper.
- Snip the middle. Snip straight across the corner that is the middle of the paper, about a third of the way along its sides.
- Open the triangle. Unfold the last fold.
- Open the square. Unfold the right half too.
- Open it all. Unfold the bottom half. There's a round hole in the middle!
- Corners behind. Fold the four corners behind, to make an eight-sided shape.
- Round the donut. Fold all eight new corners behind, just a little, so the donut is nice and round.
Sweet!
Draw sprinkles all over the icing in white and dark pens. Try brown paper for a chocolate donut.
