How to fold an origami orange
Fold the corners of an orange square behind, twice, for a really round orange. Fold a smaller square into a half-moon slice and draw its segments.
You need: 1 orange square, 1 small orange square, 1 small green square, a white pen and a glue stick. Medium, 9 steps, about 10 minutes.
Steps
- Orange: corners behind. Start orange side up. Fold all four corners behind, so the edges left on the front are all the same length.
- Orange: round it more. Now fold each of the eight new corners behind a tiny bit. The orange is nice and round.
- Slice: new sheet. Set the orange aside. Take the small orange square, orange side up.
- Slice: fold in half. Fold the top half behind, so the fold makes a straight top edge.
- Slice: round the bottom. Fold the two bottom corners behind to make a half circle.
- Leaf: new sheet. Set the slice aside. Take the small green square, white side up, with a corner pointing up and to the left.
- Leaf: make a kite. Fold the two edges beside the top left corner in so they meet along the middle, like a kite.
- Leaf: make it narrow. Fold the two short edges at the other end in to meet along the middle too.
- Put it together. Glue the orange below the leaf's narrow end, then the slice on its lower right, flat edge up.
Fresh orange!
Draw a navel dot at the top and tiny peel dots. On the slice, draw a white ring inside the edge and white lines between the segments.
