How to fold an origami easy earthworm
A sheet folded in half the long way three times makes a thin strip. Three bends, all on level creases, give it its wiggle. No cuts.
You need: 1 sheet of A4 or Letter paper, pink on one side, and a black pen. Easy, 7 steps, about 4 minutes.
Steps
- Fold in half. White side up, tall. Fold the left edge over to the right edge, the long way.
- In half again. Fold it in half the long way again, right edge over to the left edge.
- And once more. Fold it in half the long way one last time and crease it hard. Now it's a long, thin strip.
- Lay it down. Lay the strip across, sloping gently down to the right.
- First wiggle. Make a level crease across the strip 8 cm from its left end and fold the rest up over it, so it heads up to the right.
- Second wiggle. 7 cm further on, fold the rest down over another level crease, so it heads down to the right again.
- Third wiggle. 7 cm further on, fold the end up over a level crease, so it heads up once more.
Wiggle wiggle!
Draw two little eyes at the right end and a few rings along the body. Let it wriggle across the garden bed!
