How to fold an origami golf flag

Fold a red pennant with one snip, a thin yellow pole and a rounded green. Stand the pole in the hole and add a tiny white ball.

You need: 1 small red square, 1 yellow square, 1 green square, 1 tiny square for the ball, scissors, a black pen and a glue stick. Medium, 14 steps, about 12 minutes.

Steps

  1. Flag: in half. Start with the red square, red side up. Fold the top half behind.
  2. Flag: cut a point. Cut through both layers on a slant, from a bit over halfway down the left edge to the top right corner.
  3. Flag: open it. Unfold the back layer up again. Now it's a long pointed pennant.
  4. Pole: new sheet. Set the flag aside. Take the yellow square, white side up.
  5. Pole: sides to the middle. Fold the left and right edges to the middle.
  6. Pole: again. Fold the new side edges to the middle again.
  7. Pole: in half. Fold the left half behind. Now it's a thin pole.
  8. Ball: new sheet. Set the pole aside. Take the tiny square, white side up.
  9. Ball: corners behind. Fold the four corners behind to make a little round ball.
  10. Green: new sheet. Set the ball aside. Take the green square, green side up.
  11. Green: top and bottom behind. Fold the top and bottom edges behind, so a wide band is left.
  12. Green: corners behind. Fold the four corners behind.
  13. Green: round it. Fold the eight new corners behind a little, for a smooth oval green.
  14. Put it together. Glue the pole standing up from the middle of the green, the flag at its top pointing right, and the ball to the left.

Hole in one!

Draw a black hole where the pole stands, so the pole dips into it, and a few dimple dots on the ball.
