How to fold an origami hamster face

A deep tuck before the triangle leaves a wide white muzzle and cheeks below the golden fur, topped with two tiny round ears.

You need: 1 square sheet, 15 × 15 cm, golden orange on one side. Easy, 5 steps, about 4 minutes.

Steps

  1. Fold the top corner down. White side up. Fold the top corner down about 5 cm.
  2. Fold in half. Fold the top half down onto the bottom half. A big white corner peeks out below as the cheeks and muzzle.
  3. Swing up the ears. Fold the left and right corners up on steep lines near the ends, so two small ears stick up.
  4. Round the ears. Fold the tips of both ears behind, so they are tiny and round.
  5. Blunt the muzzle. Fold the tip of the white corner up behind, so the muzzle is wide and flat.

Squeak!

Draw two shiny eyes on the golden fur and a small pink nose and mouth on the white muzzle.
