How to fold an origami little lighthouse

Slanted folds taper a diamond into a tall tower, then a pleat at the top steps in a slimmer lamp room with a pointed roof.

You need: 1 square sheet, red on one side. Easy, 4 steps, about 5 minutes.

Steps

  1. Taper the tower. Put the square coloured side up like a diamond. Fold the left and right corners behind on slanted lines, so the tower gets slimmer towards the top.
  2. Top behind. Fold the top behind along a straight line across, about a third of the way down.
  3. And back up. Behind, fold it back up a little lower, so a slimmer lamp room with a pointed roof sticks up over the tower.
  4. Flat bottom. Fold the bottom corner behind along a straight line across, so the lighthouse stands flat.

Shine bright!

Draw two white windows in the lamp room and a door at the bottom. Stand it by your paper boats to guide them home.
