How to fold an origami post box
Fold a long red strip's top down as the cap and its bottom up to stop just short of it, so a white letter slot shows between, then round the top into a dome.
You need: 1 strip about 7 × 30 cm, red on one side (cut from the long side of an A4 sheet). Easy, 4 steps, about 4 minutes.
Steps
- The cap. Lay the strip white side up, standing tall. Fold the top edge down about 3 cm. This red flap is the cap.
- The letter slot. Fold the bottom edge up until it stops just below the cap. The thin white gap between them is the slot for letters.
- A dome. Fold the two top corners behind on small slants, so the cap gets a sloping top.
- Round it. Fold the four new little corners on the cap behind too. Now the top is round, like a real post box.
Post a letter!
Draw a little door with a white sign on the front. Fold a tiny envelope and pop it in the slot.
