How to fold an origami onion
One golden square folds into a fat round bulb with a pointy top. Draw the skin lines and a tuft of roots at the bottom.
You need: 1 square sheet, gold or light brown on one side, and a black pen. Easy, 3 steps, about 4 minutes.
Steps
- Make the bulb. Start coloured side up, like a diamond. Fold the left and right corners behind, and the bottom corner behind, for a wide bulb.
- Slim the top. Fold the two slanted edges at the top behind a little, from the top point down to the sides, so the top is pointier.
- Round the bulb. Fold the six corners around the bulb behind, just a little each, so it is nice and round.
No tears!
Draw curved skin lines from the top to the bottom, and a little tuft of roots under it.
