How to fold an origami toast
A brown square folds into a bread-slice shape for the crust. A smaller golden square folds the same way and sits on top, and a pale yellow square makes the butter.
You need: 1 brown square, 1 golden square a little smaller, a small pale yellow square and glue. Medium, 8 steps, about 10 minutes.
Steps
- Crust: dome the top. Brown side up. Fold the two top corners behind at a slant, to make the round top of the bread.
- Crust: round it. Fold the new corners of the top behind a little. Fold both sides behind at a slight slant, so the slice gets narrower toward the bottom.
- Butter. Set the crust aside. Take the little pale yellow square, yellow side up.
- Butter: soft corners. Fold the four corners behind, just a tiny bit.
- Toast: new square. Set the butter aside. Take the golden square, golden side up.
- Toast: dome the top. Fold the two top corners behind at a slant, just like the crust.
- Toast: round it. Round the top corners and slant the sides behind, the same as before. It's a smaller copy of the crust.
- Butter it. Glue the golden toast on the brown crust, so a brown border shows all round. Glue the butter in the middle, a little crooked.
Toasty!
Draw a few tiny dots on the toast for the holes in the bread, and a shine on the butter.
