How to fold an origami piggy bank
Fold the edges of a pink square behind into a plump body, snip the side strips free and fold them down as stubby legs, then round the back and fold down a floppy ear.
You need: 1 pink square (15 cm), scissors and a black pen. Medium, 6 steps, about 8 minutes.
Steps
- Top and bottom behind. Pink side up, fold the top and bottom edges behind, about 4 cm each.
- Sides behind. Fold the left and right edges behind, about 2 cm each.
- Snip the strips free. Snip along both side folds from the top edge down to just below the middle, so the upper parts of the strips behind come loose.
- Legs down. Fold each loose strip down behind, on a crease level with the end of the snip, so it pokes out below the belly as a leg.
- Taper the legs. Fold the two bottom corners behind on slants from the sides down to the feet, so the belly rounds off into tapered legs.
- Back and ear. Fold the top right corner behind to round the back. Fold the top left corner down in front on a shallow slant: the floppy ear.
Oink, save a coin!
Draw a coin slot on top, an eye, two nostrils on the snout and a curly tail.
