How to fold an origami easy seahorse
A long diamond folded in half stands up tall. Fold the top point forward into a snout and the bottom point forward into a curled tail.
You need: 1 square sheet, 15 × 15 cm, orange on one side, and a black pen. Easy, 6 steps, about 4 minutes.
Steps
- Crease the diagonal. White side up, like a diamond. Fold the left corner to the right corner, crease, and unfold.
- Make a kite. Fold the two lower edges in to lie along the centre crease.
- Long diamond. Fold the two upper edges in to the centre crease too, so both ends are long points.
- Fold in half. Fold the left half behind the right half. The straight fold on the left is the seahorse's back.
- Fold the snout. Fold the top point forward and down on a slant, from a spot on the back 5.5 cm below the tip, so it pokes out to the right as a snout.
- Curl the tail. Fold the bottom point forward and up on a slant, from a spot on the back 6 cm above the tip, so it curls out under the belly.
Swish!
Draw a dot eye just behind the snout and a few little stripes on the belly.
