How to fold an origami serving tray
An A4 sheet folded in half, then creased for a wide rim at the ends, a thin rim along the sides and low walls inside. The walls slope out and the rim stays level.
You need: 1 A4 or Letter sheet. Medium, 6 steps, about 10 minutes.
Steps
- Fold in half. Fold the top edge down to the bottom edge. Both sides are now coloured.
- Crease the handles. Fold the left and right edges in by about 2.5 cm, crease, then unfold. These wide strips become the handles.
- Crease the rim. Fold the top and bottom edges in by about 1 cm, crease, then unfold. This is the thin rim along the sides.
- Crease the end walls. Fold each handle crease in by another 2 cm, crease, then unfold.
- Crease the side walls. Fold each rim crease in by another 2 cm, crease, then unfold. A long floor sits in the middle.
- Raise the walls. Tilt the four walls up so they slope outward, pinching each corner into a seam. Fold the rim and handles back out so they lie level.
Breakfast is served!
Carry paper cups and cupcakes on it, or use it to keep crayons tidy on your desk.
