How to fold an origami knight's shield
Fold the sides in with a gap for the white stripe and fold the top down as a band. Fold the bottom corners behind to make the shield's point.
You need: 1 square sheet, red or blue on one side and white on the other. Easy, 5 steps, about 4 minutes.
Steps
- Sides in, leave a gap. Start white side up. Fold the left and right edges in towards the middle, but stop short, so a white stripe shows between them.
- Fold the top band. Fold the top edge down about a fifth of the way. It makes a coloured band across the top of the shield.
- Shorten the bottom. Fold the bottom edge behind a little, so the shield is about as tall as it is wide.
- Make the point. Fold the two bottom corners behind, from halfway down each side to the middle of the bottom edge, so the shield ends in a point.
- Round the top. Fold the two top corners behind just a little, to soften them.
On guard!
Your shield is ready for battle. Tape a paper strip handle on the back and pair it with a paper sword.
