How to fold an origami traffic cone
A kite makes the tall cone. A pleat folded near the bottom drops the cone down so the wider base sticks out on both sides. Two white pen stripes finish it.
You need: 1 square sheet, orange on one side and white on the other, and a white pen. Easy, 6 steps, about 5 minutes.
Steps
- Crease the middle. Put the square white side up like a diamond. Fold the left corner to the right corner, crease well, and unfold.
- Make a kite. Fold the two upper edges in so they lie along the centre crease.
- Flat bottom. Fold the short bottom point behind, along the line between the two side corners.
- Fold the top down. Fold the long top point all the way down, making the fold a little above the bottom edge. The point hangs below.
- And back up. Fold the point back up along the bottom edge. The cone drops a little and the wide base now sticks out on both sides.
- Blunt the tip. Fold the very tip of the cone behind, just a little.
Slow down!
Draw two white stripes across the cone. Make a few and line up a road for your toy cars.
