How to fold an origami sombrero
A triangle makes the crown. Roll its bottom strip up twice and it sticks far out past the sloping sides as a wide brim; then round the top.
You need: 1 square sheet, orange on one side, and a black pen. Easy, 5 steps, about 5 minutes.
Steps
- Make a triangle. Put the square white side up like a diamond. Fold the bottom corner up to the top corner.
- Fold up a strip. Fold the bottom edge up a little way, about a seventh of the triangle's height.
- Roll it up again. Fold the strip up once more. It is wider than the hat above it, so its ends stick far out as the brim.
- Flat top. Fold the very top point behind, so the crown has a small flat top.
- Round the crown. Fold the two top corners behind a little, so the crown is round.
