How to fold an origami easy beanie

A white cuff folds up from the bottom, the corners fold behind into a round top, and a little pleat pops the tip up as a pom-pom.

You need: 1 square sheet, red or blue on one side and white on the other. Easy, 5 steps, about 4 minutes.

Steps

  1. Fold the cuff. Coloured side up, fold the bottom edge up a little. The white strip is the cuff.
  2. Make a roof. Fold the two top corners behind on slants that meet at the middle of the top edge.
  3. Point behind. Fold the top point behind.
  4. Pom-pom up. Behind, fold the point back up a little lower so its tip peeks over the top. That's the pom-pom.
  5. Round the hat. Fold the two side corners behind on short slants so the hat gets round shoulders.

Snug and warm!

Draw a few up-and-down knit lines on the hat. Make one for every snowman in your winter picture.
