How to fold an origami apple
Fold the corners of a red square to the middle and round them off for a plump apple. A brown strip makes the stem and a small green square folds into the leaf.
You need: 1 red square, a small brown strip, 1 small green square, and a glue stick. Easy, 9 steps, about 6 minutes.
Steps
- Apple: corners to the middle. Start with the red square, white side up, like a diamond. Fold all four corners in to meet in the middle.
- Apple: round the corners. Fold the four corners of the square over a little: the two top ones a bit, the two bottom ones more.
- Apple: turn it over. Flip it over so the smooth red side faces you.
- Leaf: new sheet. Set the apple aside. Take the small green square, white side up, like a diamond.
- Leaf: make a kite. Fold the two lower edges in so they meet in the middle.
- Leaf: make it narrow. Fold the two short top edges in to meet along the middle too.
- Stem: new sheet. Set the leaf aside. Take the small brown strip, white side up, standing tall.
- Stem: fold it in half. Fold the strip in half from left to right, the long way, to make a thin stem.
- Put it together. Glue the stem behind the top of the apple, and the leaf behind the stem, pointing up to the right.
