How to fold an origami avocado
Fold a dark green and a pale green square into the same pear shape, one smaller, and glue the pale one on top. A rounded brown square makes the pit.
You need: 1 dark green square, 1 pale green square a bit smaller, 1 small brown square and a glue stick. Medium, 12 steps, about 12 minutes.
Steps
- Skin: make a kite. Fold the two upper edges in so they meet along the middle. It is now narrow at the top and wide near the bottom.
- Skin: turn it over. Flip it over so the smooth side faces you.
- Skin: top and bottom. Fold the top point behind to make a small flat top, and the bottom point behind a little.
- Skin: round it. Fold the two side corners behind, and the two bottom corners behind a tiny bit, to make it round at the bottom.
- Pit: new sheet. Set the skin aside. Take the small brown square, brown side up.
- Pit: round it. Fold all four corners behind to make a round pit.
- Inside: new sheet. Set the pit aside. Take the pale green square, white side up, like a diamond.
- Inside: make a kite. Fold the two upper edges in so they meet along the middle. It is now narrow at the top and wide near the bottom.
- Inside: turn it over. Flip it over so the smooth side faces you.
- Inside: top and bottom. Fold the top point behind to make a small flat top, and the bottom point behind a little.
- Inside: round it. Fold the two side corners behind, and the two bottom corners behind a tiny bit, to make it round at the bottom.
- Put it together. Glue the dark skin behind the pale piece so a dark rim shows all round, then glue the pit on the round lower part.
