How to fold an origami pancakes
Three golden strips with round ends stack into a pile of pancakes. A brown strip folds into a syrup puddle with drips running down, and a yellow pat of butter sits on top.
You need: 3 golden strips (about 7 times as long as tall), 1 thinner brown strip, a little yellow square and glue. Medium, 12 steps, about 12 minutes.
Steps
- Bottom pancake. Golden side up. Fold the four corners behind, just a little, to round the ends of the pancake.
- Middle pancake. Set it aside and take the second golden strip, a little longer, golden side up.
- Round the ends. Fold the four corners behind a little, just like the first one.
- Top pancake. Set it aside and take the last golden strip, the shortest one.
- Round the ends. Fold its four corners behind a little too. That's three pancakes!
- Syrup: new strip. Set the pancakes aside. Take the brown strip, brown side up.
- Syrup: in half. Fold the top half behind, so the strip is brown on both sides.
- Syrup: drips. Fold each end down at a slant so it hangs straight down. Make the left drip a bit longer than the right one.
- Syrup: round drops. Snip both bottom corners off each drip, so it ends in a drop.
- Butter. Set the syrup aside. Take the little yellow piece, yellow side up.
- Soft corners. Fold the four corners behind, just a tiny bit.
- Stack it up. Glue the pancakes in a pile, longest in the middle. Lay the syrup over the top one with the drips down the front, and the butter on top.
Breakfast is served!
Draw a little white shine on the syrup. Hungry? Add more pancakes to the pile.
