How to fold an origami baseball cap
A folded rectangle gets its top corners rounded off into a dome, and a little strip in a second colour slides underneath as the peak.
You need: A 15 cm square and a 7.5 cm square in a darker colour, both white on the back, and a glue stick. Medium, 8 steps, about 8 minutes.
Steps
- Fold in half. Start white side up. Fold the bottom edge up to the top edge.
- Fold the corners behind. Fold both top corners behind on a slant, about a quarter of the way along each edge.
- Round the dome. Fold the four new little corners behind too, so the top is a smooth dome.
- Peak: new sheet. Set the dome aside. Take the small dark square, white side up.
- Peak: fold in half. Fold the bottom edge up to the top edge.
- Peak: in half again. Fold the bottom edge up to the top again, making a thin strip.
- Peak: round the end. Fold the two right-hand corners behind a little, so the front of the peak is round.
- Glue on the dome. Glue the dome over the left end of the peak, bottom edges level, so the round peak sticks out in front.
Batter up!
Draw two seams down from the button. Fold caps in your team's colours, or glue one on a paper face.
