How to fold an origami easy sun hat
Flatten a diamond into a long, wide brim, then pleat the top so the round crown sits up behind it.
You need: 1 square sheet, straw yellow on one side. Easy, 5 steps, about 4 minutes.
Steps
- Flat bottom. Put the square coloured side up like a diamond. Fold the bottom corner behind, just below the side corners.
- Top behind. Fold the top corner behind along a line just above the side corners.
- Crown up. Behind, fold the corner back up a little lower so it pops up over the brim. That's the crown.
- Flat top. Fold the point of the crown behind.
- Round the crown. Fold the two top corners of the crown behind on short slants.
Summer ready!
Draw a ribbon round the bottom of the crown and add a little flower. Pop it on a paper doll for a beach day.
