How to fold an origami little blimp
Fold the long edges behind to make the body, then swing them back out at the tail as two fins. Fold the front corners behind twice for a round nose.
You need: 1 sheet half as long again as it is wide (cut a strip off a square), grey on one side. Easy, 4 steps, about 4 minutes.
Steps
- Make the body. Lay the sheet long side across, grey side up. Fold the top and bottom edges behind, a quarter of the way in each.
- Tail fins. Behind, fold each strip back out on a gentle slant from its left end, so a triangle pops out at the top and the bottom: the tail fins.
- Shape the nose. Fold the two right corners behind on slants, leaving a short blunt end in the middle.
- Round the nose. Fold the two new corners behind a little, so the nose is round.
Up, up and away!
Draw three little windows low down near the front. Hang it from a thread so it floats.
