How to fold an origami little hovercraft

Fold the bottom up to show a white band for the skirt and round its ends. Slope the top corners and pleat the top into the cabin.

You need: 1 sheet twice as long as it is tall (half a square), red on one side and white on the other, and a black pen. Easy, 5 steps, about 4 minutes.

Steps

  1. White skirt. Lay the long sheet red side up. Fold the bottom edge up in front, about a fifth of the way, so a white band shows.
  2. Round the skirt. Fold the two bottom corners behind on small slants, so the skirt has rounded ends.
  3. Slope the top. Fold the top corners behind: a short slant at the left end, and a long one from just right of the middle down the right end.
  4. Cabin. Fold the top behind along a level line a little above the bottom of the slopes.
  5. Step it up. Behind, fold it back up a little lower, so the top peeks out as a cabin with a sloping front.

Over land and sea!

Draw four white windows on the cabin and a few short black lines round the skirt so it looks puffy.
